THE STORY BEHIND HOORAY DAY
Making things is how I show up in the world.
It always has been.
Creativity has been part of my DNA for as long as I can remember. Long before I knew what to call it, I was making things — from kindergarten crafts to silver jewelry in high school to paper flowers that fill a room. The entrepreneurial spirit showed up early too. Every business I've ever built has been rooted in art, beauty, and the belief that what you make with your hands matters.
From Madison Avenue advertising to running a nonprofit symphony orchestra, my career has always lived in the world of creativity and community. Through all of it, what I love most is the making itself. Getting lost in the process. The curiosity of trying something new. The imperfection that somehow always turns into something you're proud of.
Hooray Day brings all of that together through creative workshops designed to help people gather, connect, and make something beautiful with their hands. No screens, no pressure, just good people making something beautiful with their hands.
After thirty-four years in Florida, this is the work that feels most like home.
